Moving Day Planning
Preparation for the Move
At Allied , we know that moving is often filled with anticipation and quite often, stressful. That’s why we make a point of beginning the process early and letting you and your family know what to expect at every stage.
Actual Move Day
On moving day, your Crew Supervisor will take a tour around your home with you, taking an inventory of the items to be moved according to the shipping methods you’ve decided on. The supervisor will also give instructions for the crew to treat treasured belongings with special care.
Our crew will begin by laying a lining around the floor, doorways, and other vulnerable areas of your home. We encourage you to oversee the loading so you can give us any last minute instructions for your household goods. A damage check will be carried out for each item prior to packing; any damaged items will be pointed out to you and noted on the inventory. For your convenience, every carton will be numbered along with a brief description of the contents and marked by room.
Packing Inventory
As our crew wraps up the last box, properly labeled and sealed, a numbered inventory will be prepared for you. It will contain brief descriptions of the contents of each carton matched to the label on the box, and each box will have marked to ensure that the content from each room will make from your old house to your destination for easy unpacking. To make tracking easier, a separate inventory list will be created for each shipping method.
A copy of the inventories will be forwarded to the Allied team at destination to expedite customs clearance and delivery.
